Florida affordable and low income housing

Florida provides many housing resources for rent assistance through programs such as those provided by HUD. HUD Housing subsidized apartments helps apartment owners provide reduced rents to low-income tenants. To apply, contact or visit the management office of each apartment building that interests you.

Visit our resources below for more information on Section 8, subsidized apartments and rent assistance.

To apply for Section 8 housing in FL
1. Your income must be below 50% of the areas median income. To find this information, you have to contact your local city hall or public housing authority. (I have them listed below)
2. HUD housing is also only available to US Citizens.
3. You must have a clean criminal history.

When applying for Section 8 housing it is generally smart to apply to as many places as possible. Long waiting lists are currently the norm in Florida. These waiting lists are often times many years. This is why I have provided more than Section 8 listings below for you to find affordable housing.
