The Sir Charles is a HUD Apartment. HUD residents usually pay 30% of their gross income for rent. The rent amount, less approved HUD deductions such as medical and child care expenses, and other allowances, includes a utility allowance. HUD Residents also may choose to pay what is known as flat rent. The HACC works with applicants to determine which rent arrangement is best for them. A landmark property, the Sir Charles Apartments are located in beautiful historic downtown Yankton, South Dakota. This extraordinary building, constructed in 1856, caters to elderly and disabled tenants, but also accepts family applicants. We offer a lounge area, large community room with free cable television, kitchen, stove, and microwave. There are public restrooms, on-site laundry facilities, and elevator. The 34 spacious one-bedroom apartments each has its own unique floor plan. Heat and A/C, electric, water, sewer, and garbage are included in rent. Lewis & Clark, Contact Center, and Impact clients are encouraged to apply.
