In her attempt to return to college this term, our daughter reserved a one-bedroom apartment on airbnb for a 4-month commitment. Two days prior to checkin, discovered the unit was in an affordable housing complex, the modern, 130 mount vernon avenue, mount vernon, ny. We notified airbnb help and requested a refund of first month rent deposit. They have refused our refund, we found other accommodations for her, and are disputing this by any means available to us. The unit is still listed on their platform. We have saved all of the information if you wish to correct this housing irregularity with the actual tenant. She is listing it for about $800 above her subsidized rent.
