Founded In 1978 By A Group Of Concerned Neighborhood Residents, Near Westside Neighborhood Association (NWNA) Works Closely With Tenants, Landlords, Homeowners And Businesses To Stimulate Neighborhood Revitalization. NWNA Provides A Variety Of Housing Counseling Services, Landlord Education, Property Management Services, Special Needs Housing, And Housing Rehabilitation Grant/Loan Programs. NWNA Is Actively Involved In The Community Daily With Neighborhood Watch Programs, Clean-Up Projects, And Community Service Events. NWNA Is Also The Lead Agency In Elmira Promoting Historic Preservation Activity Through Workshops, Speakers, Historic Walking Tours, Built Environment Awareness Classes In The Local Schools, And Historic Preservation Projects.

Qualifications: Do you qualify to live here?
To qualify for low income housing in New York, you must meet the following income requirements:

Your household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The AMI is updated annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and varies by county.

You must have a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

In addition to the income requirements, you may also need to meet other eligibility requirements, such as:

- You must not have been evicted from any public housing or Section 8 housing in the past three years.
- You must not have any outstanding felony convictions for drug-related offenses.
- You must not be a registered sex offender.
