Macclenny Housing Authority provides housing assistance to low income residents through the management of Low Rent Public Housing. These rentals are income based and the eligibility requirements are set by HUD. There may be a waiting list for this programs rentals and at times the list may close to new applicants due to the overwhelming need for housing assistance and the size of the list. The Housing Authority currently manages 80rentals that range in size from 1 - 5 bedrooms and are located throughout 3 sites. The areas Housing Choice Voucher Program is operated through The Baker County Housing Assistance Program . Although these entities are located at the same office site they are separately operated and funded. The Baker County Housing Assistance Program can be reached at (904)259-3287. If you need assistance with Low Rent Public Housing please contact the Macclenny Housing Authority directly to obtain more information about eligibility requirements, availability of rentals, the status of any waiting lists and their application procedures. If you need assistance with the Section 8 program please contact the Baker County Housing Assistance office.

Qualifications: Do you qualify to live here?
To qualify for low income housing in Florida, you must meet the following income requirements:

Your household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The AMI is updated annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and varies by county.

You must have a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

In addition to the income requirements, you may also need to meet other eligibility requirements, such as:

- You must not have been evicted from any public housing or Section 8 housing in the past three years.
- You must not have any outstanding felony convictions for drug-related offenses.
- You must not be a registered sex offender.
