Rochester Housing Authority provides housing assistance to low income residents through the management of programs such as Low Rent Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8. These programs are income based and the eligibility guidelines are set by HUD. There may be waiting lists for rentals or vouchers and at times the lists may close to new applicants based on the size of and length of wait on the lists. If you are in need of housing assistance in the area please contact the Housing Authority directly to obtain more information about eligibility requirements, availability of rentals or vouchers, the status of any waiting lists and their application procedures.

Ithe news states that state lawmakers are considering canceling rent payments for 3 months. I have currently filled out a renewal application due on march 3, but mailed ii on february 23. 2020. My new lease begins july 1, 2020. If the law is passed does that mean i have to re=apply again.? I am a senior on social security that is very low ($700 monthly)?? Can my landlord evict me out. ? I always pay what the amount that rha states for me to pay and mail it to my landlord on time. Please let me know because this is making me have alot of stress. I have worked a many years of my life to have something bad happen. Thanks for your reply. Ha

I'm on dhs, i only get 440. 0 a month. I have to move from where i'm at. I'm having a hard time finding a place to live. Can you help me with this? Thanks, bonnie allsup
