Hello, i am a 57 yr old female who is looking for an affordable apartment or small home to rent. I get ssdi and have for about 5 yrs now. I was my mother's care taker for about the past 10 yrs and she passed late oct, 2018. I couldn't afford to stay in the home that she & i had shared and my daughter allowed me to move into her home with her family just until i could find me a small place of my own. It's been almost 4 months now and i'm going to have to be leaving here, yet i have no place to go!? I had no ideal where to even began searching and ran upon this website. Could you please tell me if you can possibly help me or at least provide some places that may be able to assist me? I'm getting desperate and don't know what to do next! I would sincerely appreciate any information you can provide! Thank you,

Check For Waiting Lists

Most apartments have waiting lists. Search early and do not just settle on one apartment choice.

Contact Your Local Housing Authority

Housing authorities have many opportunities. Many do have closed waiting lists, but they may be able to provide other public housing resources.

Check The Federal Poverty Sliding Scale Guidelines

Check to see if you qualify for low cost or free housing by comparing the guidelines to your income records.
