Calvary Baptist Church Houses Senior Housing is a HUD Apartment. HUD residents usually pay 30% of their gross income for rent. The rent amount, less approved HUD deductions such as medical and child care expenses, and other allowances, includes a utility allowance. HUD Residents also may choose to pay what is known as flat rent. The HACC works with applicants to determine which rent arrangement is best for them. CALBAC is a 100-unit development consisting of 25 studio apartments and 74 one-bedroom apartments and 1 two-bedroom apartment for the Resident Superintendent. Applicants must be 62 years of age and over or disabled, and meet income eligibility requirements. The project is financed under Section 202/Section 8 of the National Housing Act, and is regulated by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Rent charges and operating methods are also regulated by HUD. *Currently CALBAC’s waiting list has 378 applicants and is closed to any new additions at this time.
