Hoffman Gardens is a 200 unit Family Public Housing Development Project owned by the Hialeah Housing Authority, with 34 one bedroom, 76 two bedroom, 72 three bedroom, 14 four bedroom and 4 five bedroom units, and is located at 7650 West 8th Avenue, Hialeah, Florida. "Hoffman Gardens" was named in honor of Doctor Charles Hoffman, who was appointed by the Mayor of the City of Hialeah, as the first Chairman of the Board of Commissioners on February 14, 1967. Thereafter, Doctor Charles Hoffman served three consecutive four year terms. The construction of Hoffman Gardens was completed in October of 1971. Hoffman Gardens is currently undergoing a 5 Million Dollar Capital Improvement project, which includes the installation of central Air Conditioning and a complete exterior and common area redesign.

Qualifications: Do you qualify to live here?
To qualify for low income housing in Florida, you must meet the following income requirements:

Your household income must be below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The AMI is updated annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and varies by county.

You must have a valid Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal immigrant.

In addition to the income requirements, you may also need to meet other eligibility requirements, such as:

- You must not have been evicted from any public housing or Section 8 housing in the past three years.
- You must not have any outstanding felony convictions for drug-related offenses.
- You must not be a registered sex offender.
